ST. MARK 10
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. 7 For this cause, 4a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife. 8 And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. 10 And in the house again his disciples asked him concerning the same thing. 11 And he saith to them: Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another commetteth adultery against her. 12 And if the wife shall put away her husband and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
ST. JOHN 2 -
The Divine Blessing on Marriage
And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage.
22 Let women be subject to their husbands, as to the Lord: 23 Because the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. He is the saviour of his body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ: so also let the wives by to their husbands in all things. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and delivered himself up for it:
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother: and shall cleave to his wife. And they shall be two in one flesh. 32 This is a great sacrament: but I speak in Christ and in the church. 33 Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular love for his wife as himself: and let the wife fear her husband.
